At New Beijiang Company, people like Mi Yanxun and Chen Zhijun, who entered the company right after graduation and have persisted for over twenty years in dedicated frontline production positions, have grown into key grassroots personnel alongside the development of the enterprise. They represent and embody the many admirable and lovable New Beijiang people who have silently devoted their youth to the company.

Mi Yanxun is the production supervisor of the refining department's second workshop. Although she is somewhat shy when speaking, she is very decisive when working: under the group's guidance of "safety, environment, quality, and cost" as the driving force, as a frontline grassroots manager, she implements work at the grassroots level, such as participating in small process improvements in the second workshop, leading team members to optimize operational details, and increasing acid-base recovery equipment. Over the past year, this has enabled the effective recycling of over a thousand tons of production acid and alkali, significantly reducing the consumption of process water, saving energy and reducing emissions, contributing to cost reduction. At the same time, Mi Yanxun, together with her team, has ensured product quality through refined control of the production process. For this reason, in 2018, she was recommended by the company as a candidate for the group's "Craftsman Star".

Mi Yanxun joined New Beijiang right after graduating in 1991. She has always worked on the frontline of the production workshop, from initial positions in packaging and drying to on-site management. Although the types of products produced in the workshop have changed, she has never left the refining workshop. She is familiar with every corner of the production equipment in the workshop and has a deep affection for both the workshop and the company!

"A company experiences both good times and challenges. When the company's development is in adversity, it tests a person's determination and faith. No matter what, if you are committed to this company, you can work here with peace of mind, and your thoughts will be with the company. I have never considered changing jobs; I regard this place as home and will persist until the end, no matter what. Because this is my first job, I am passionate about my work, and I hope it will be my last job."

Mi Yanxun's simple words combined with her work environment evoke a sense of emotion. It can be a bit noisy here, but after years of working, she still wears a bright smile. In recent years, under the leadership of General Tang from the business unit, the company has adhered to the philosophy of "practicing internal skills, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency," leading to thriving development. As someone working on the frontline, Mi Yanxun feels fulfilled; on this fast-moving train, she senses that she is progressing together with the company.

Do you find it hard?

"Not at all, because if you treat work as an interest, as a hobby, you won't find it hard. I have found joy in my work and treat it as a pleasure."

Chen Zhijun has been working at New Beijiang since graduating in 1992, and it has been 27 years. Once a youthful young man, he has now grown into a middle-aged manager of the fermentation engineering department. Over the past 27 years, he has worked in both refining and fermentation, and he finds fermentation to be more challenging, which is why he enjoys this challenge!

"I treat my work as a career. I like to do one thing from beginning to end because I am familiar with this industry and love it. My current team has 56 people, many of whom are in their twenties. They have also started to enjoy this work under my guidance. We are like brothers; we understand each other and can talk about anything together."

Somewhat silly, Chen Zhijun always gives a friendly impression. He said that being recognized as a "Craftsman Star" by the company is also a validation of his achievements in fermentation work over the years. In fact, the results are evident: with the joint efforts of the R&D department, the key varieties in the fermentation workshop have significantly improved their tank production levels through optimized fermentation processes. This year, he plans to continue improving tank production levels, reducing production fluctuations, and ultimately lowering production costs, which is Chen Zhijun's new goal for this year.

What is the key factor for doing fermentation work well?

"I believe it is control. You must constantly observe and analyze, be meticulous and calm, and not be careless at all. In the past two years, through technological innovation and process improvement, the fermentation engineering department has significantly reduced costs, but I believe we still have room for improvement because we have a young and passionate team."

Postscript:

Mi Yanxun and Chen Zhijun said that New Beijiang now feels like a big family. The frontline colleagues all have a strong resilience; they regard the factory as home: we hardly rest on weekends, regardless of wind or rain. Even if the company does not require overtime, we still habitually go back to check things out, as it gives us peace of mind. Since taking on the current position, the burden on our shoulders has become heavier. Because the company leaders trust you and place you in this position, you must be responsible for the company, for the employees, and ensure that the products and production are done well, which is the most important thing.
